Personal Mi'raj and 8 Doors of Paradise

الجنة لها ثمانية أبواب، والنار لها سبعة أبواب
‘There are eight doors for Paradise and seven doors for the Fire ” said the Prophet.
The saying of Allah : "Al-Hamndu Lil-lahi" (All Perpetual Praise for Allah) has eight alphabets, the number of the doors of Paradise is also eight, therefore he who recites these eight alphabets out of purity of heart does deserve (the opening of) the eight doors of Paradise. Know that indeed there are eight doors for Paradise, and in the rank (Maqam) that you reach after reciting: I take refuge in Allah from the Shaytan the outcast ('Auzu Billahi)... one door of the eight doors of Paradise opens for you, that is the door of Ma’refa (Divine Gnosis).
A second door is Door of Remembrance (al-Dhikr) as you are reciting ‘Bismil-lahir Rahmanir Rahim’.
The third door is Door of Gratitude (Shukr) after reciting ‘Al-Hamdu Lil-Lahi Rabbil Alamin’.
The fourth door is Door of Hope (al-Raja’) when you recite ‘Ar-Rahanir Rahimi’.
The fifth door is Door of Fear (al-Khauf) when you recite ‘Maliki Yaumid-Din’.
The sixth door is Door of Sincerity (al-ikhlas) born out of the Ma’refa (Divine Gnosis) of ‘Ubudiat (Servitude) and Rububiat (Divinity) in your reciting ‘Iyyaka Na’budu Wa Iyyaka Nasta’inu’.
The seventh door is Door of Invocation (al-Du’a) in your reciting ‘Ihdinas Siratal Mustaqim’.
The eight door is Door of Emulation (al-‘Iqtidā’) or following the example) of the good and pure souls, and of seeking guidance through their Nur (Divine Light) and that is in your reciting of ‘Siratal La-Dhina…’
Now you know the secrets of the Eight Doors of Paradise and what is referred to in Surat Sad (38) verse 50. ‘The Gardens of Eden with opened doors for them’. For the Gardens of Divine Gnosis have been opened by these spiritual keys, and this does Isharat (Point) to what happens during the Salat (Prayer) of Spiritual Mi’raj (Ascension- like that of the Prophet to the Heavens).

تفسير مفاتيح الغيب ، التفسير الكبير/ الرازي (ت 606 هـ)
الفائدة الرابعة: قوله الحمد لله ثمانية أحرف، وأبواب الجنة ثمانية، فمن قال هذه الثمانية عن صفاء قلبه استحق ثمانية أبواب الجنة.

وهو أيضاً معراج محمد عليه السلام، لأن معراجه مفتتح بقوله: «سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك» وأما قولك: «وجهت وجهي» فهو معراج إبراهيم الخليل عليه السلام، وقولك: «إن صلاتي ونسكي ومحياي ومماتي لله» فهو معراج محمد الحبيب عليه السلام، فإذا قرأت هذين الذكرين فقد جمعت بين معراج أكابر الملائكة المقربين وبين معراج عظماء الأنبياء والمرسلين، ثم إذا فرغت من هذه الحالة فقل: أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم، لتدفع ضرر العجب من نفسك.
واعلم أن للجنة ثمانية أبواب، ففي هذا المقام انفتح لك باب من أبواب الجنة، وهو باب المعرفة،
والباب الثاني: هو باب الذكر وهو قولك بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم،
والباب الثالث: باب الشكر، وهو قولك الحمد لله رب العالمين
والباب الرابع: باب الرجاء، وهو قولك الرحمن الرحيم،
والباب الخامس: باب الخوف، وهو قولك مالك يوم الدين،
والباب السادس: باب الإخلاص المتولد من معرفة العبودية ومعرفة الربوبية، وهو قولك إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين،
والباب السابع: باب الدعاء والتضرع كما قال: أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ[النمل: 62] وقال: ٱدْعُونِى أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ [غافر: 60] وهو ههنا قولك اهدنا الصراط المستقيم،
والباب الثامن: باب الاقتداء بالأرواح الطيبة الطاهرة والاهتداء بأنوارهم، وهو قولك صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين،
وبهذا الطريق إذا قرأت هذه السورة. ووقفت على أسرارها انفتحت لك ثمانية أبواب الجنة، وهو المراد من قوله تعالى: جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّهُمُ ٱلأبْوَابُ [صۤ: 50] فجنات المعارف الربانية انفتحت أبوابها بهذه المقاليد الروحانية، فهذا هو الإشارة إلى ما حصل في الصلاة من المعراج الروحاني.
